Privacy Policy

At TroutSupport (Precision Fishing Resources LLC) we’re just like you. We don’t want our private information violated, and we know this is important to you as well.

Why do we collect personal information?

TroutSupport collects personal information when we interact with you, and when you interact with our website and social media pages. We’ll do this to provide you with products more specifically tailored to helping you, and communicate with you about those products and services, and provide customer services and support when needed. We won’t give any of this data to anyone and we’ll use it solely to make sure you grow as an angler.

What data do we collect (“I mean, …WTF Tobin! ???”)

When you interact with us you may register your email address or register an account with us giving us your name, address, and phone. You may interact with us in our member program and we’ll keep all that interaction text so we can help you and other anglers. As a note, anything you submit to us in either the registration process or through our site or forum will become the property of TroutSupport.com Your computers IP address, and machine type (such as computer or phone) will be noted in our system when you purchase or register for our site, make purchases, or sign up for newsletters, blogs, or giveaways. During those interactions and through the power of social media technology (like Facebook and Google and other social media ‘apps’) you may share with us your language, gender and age, and, if applicable, content preferences and personalization information, and information interest. We may combine all this information we get through our site and your social media preferences to better serve you. We also note which pages of our site you visit, for example, when you check out the Membership section over and over, wondering if it’s going to help you, if it’s worth that $ for the whole year, or look at the big trout personal best photos, at some point we might email you asking if you’d like more information about the program or ask what you’d like to get out of it.

What are Cookies and do we use them?

Cookies, like chocolate chip and peanut butter are NOT what we’re talking about here. We’re talking about computer browser cookies. This is a term that describes a small data file that is put on your hard drive to record your visits and the nature of your visits when you visit our site, like the big trout photo visits described above. It also has the ability to store your password so it makes it easy for you to revisit the site. We treat your personal information saved in the cookies with the same safeguards as your other data. If you choose to disable cookies in your web browser, which you are certainly welcomed to do, then it might make it a pain in the tuckus to use certain sections fo the site, but it would no longer capture the personal interaction data.

How do we safeguard your data?

You data from interacting with us is stored within our secured servers. ‘But Tobin, what about the hackers?’ Our servers and site are built to the best of our teams ability and is more advanced than any other fishing group that uses a low level cheap website ap and pluggin made for the masses. Ours is custom built from technology used by the website hosting and domain industry. In addition to this we use the newest and most advanced encryption when you purchase through our secure site and use your credit card or PayPal account along with your personal and confidential information. We do everything top notch, and why shouldn’t you get the best treatment and protection? However, while we do all that we can to protect you; hackers will hack; no one can completely guarantee the safety of data transmitted or stored anywhere on the internet, but this is also somewhat true now about using your card to make purchases at gas pumps and shoe stores. It is important that you also take steps to safeguard your personal information by not sharing your passwords from our site; Keep it locked down.
How do we use your personal information?
We use the data to service you better and make sure you get the services and products you request from us such as when purchasing a membership or any product from us. We may also ask you to participate in product reviews and get your feedback on certain items and then use that information to offer other related or unrelated products to you and others along with upgrades to those products and services in the future based on any and all of the information. We may offer new products directly to you in the form of an advertisement but we’ll try not to be too ‘Sham Wow’ about it. WE don’t like getting our inbox filled with all the spam either so we’ll try to make it worth your while to be apart of what we do and we hope you feel that way. One thing to note, if you visit our site, if you don’t have your internet browser search ‘tracking blocked’, you may receive targeted ads through Google and other internet advertising platforms that are ads we use to reach new anglers just like you. If this is important to you, you should research and install internet browsers that ‘block tracking’. Just know that by visiting the site and interacting with us you may receive an email or social media message saying ‘Hi’ or thanking you for registering, or purchasing, or anything to do with making sure you get the support you need to install a product or use it. Also, by using our site, you understand that you may be contacted by phone or other manners even if your listed on the do not call list. We reserve the right to call you at anytime, although, knowing me, the conversion will likely start with “Hey, you been fishing?”

When do we disclose your personal information?

There are only several instances where we would disclose your personal information. The first is when you make a purchase, our site talks to your credit card company and back with your personal information so the transaction can occur; I think that’s self explanatory. Here’s what might not be evident, we may also disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) comply with law or legal process or if requested by duly authorized public authorities; (b) comply with the order of a competent judicial authority in any jurisdiction; (c) comply with legal process served on TroutSupport.com; (d) protect and defend the rights or property of Precision Fishing Resources LLC, or our affiliated companies, their employees and agents; (e) enforce our terms of use; (f) protect against fraud, infringement, or other illegal activity or for risk management purposes; (g) permit us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain; (g) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of TroutSupport.com products or the public at large. If in the future we’re ever acquired or become a ‘effin sell-out’ we may disclose all the data to the new owner during pre sales discussion for acquisition or mergers. Although we all hate advertising, at some point I may have some third party advertising on any site owned or operated by Precision Fishing Resources. The third party ad and their sites may also collect your IP address and personal information, use cookies, JavaScript, and other technologies in the ads and their related sites.

Opting Out

Much of the data that we collect requires your choice to input that said data, for example, using your shipping address to purchase an item; that’s self explanatory. If at any time you’d like to revoke your choice for us to keep the information a simple email to us would be sufficient. You can also opt out of receiving emails from us at any time by simply hitting the unsubscribe button. If you wish to not have cookies placed by your browser for our site you may at anytime adjust your browsers settings. You may elect to adjust your advertising preferences on any social media your engage with or use and thereby opt out of advertising. With respect families and children. I know I was big time into fishing way before I was 18. We don’t knowingly collect personal information of anyone under the age of 13. By using our site you have implied that you are of adult age or are using the site with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, you are urged to email us tobin@troutsupport.com immediately.
You are always welcome to email us directly about anything including our Privacy Policies and Practices. We may change our policies at any time and we will prominently post that the policies have changed.
